Legislative Affairs

The Ohio Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® employ full-time lobbyists to stay abreast of and intervene in current and future legislative issues affecting the real estate industry.

Likewise, the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Stark County Association of REALTORS® stays abreast of local issues.

Additionally, RPAC provides a voice in the political arena. Funded by individual REALTORS® to financially support persons seeking elective office who share the same governmental principles, RPAC funds also are used to aid in supporting or defeating pertinent legislative issues locally, statewide or nationally.

Oil and Gas

One of the biggest issues in Ohio is the leasing of oil and gas rights. Landowners are being approached by oil companies in record numbers to lase the Marcellus Shale and subsequently, the Utica Shale beneath their property for oil and natural gas exploration.
