In 1988, the Ohio Association of REALTORS® urged each of its local boards to sponsor projects to benefit the homeless. What better community service could there be for professionals who make their living selling homes than to assist those without shelter? And thus, the Have A Heart Benefit was born.
In 1989, the Stark County Association of REALTORS® held its first fund-raiser. The event made $1,009 and the spirit, energy and enthusiasm among those involved was uncontainable as the event proceeded into the years to come. Twenty years later, more than $829,757 has been raised to aid area housing organizations.
Thanks to loyal support from REALTORS®, affiliates, builders, merchants and other community members, our project has grown tremendously both financially and in its mission. Funds raised at Have A Heart events are distributed entirely to organizations which address community housing issues within the jurisdiction of the Stark County Association of REALTORS®. That's the goal of Have A Heart. Together, we can help improve the lives of others!

The 2010 Have A Heart Recipients are honored at a Recipient Reception Luncheon.
